DR JOHN CHU

Dr John Chu is a highly trained cardiologist with over 30 years of clinical experience.

A graduate of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he completed his specialist cardiology training at Dunedin Hospital, New Zealand. He obtained a Masters in Medical Science with Distinction from the University of Otago in the study of the genetic basis of coronary stent re-stenosis.

Dr Chu was awarded the Overseas Training Scholarship from the New Zealand Heart Foundation to undertake advanced echocardiography training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA and upon his return to New Zealand was appointed Consultant Cardiologist and Co-director of the echocardiography labratory at Dunedin Hospital and Clinical Senior Lecturer (Medicine) at the Otago Medical School.
