Professor Kiat graduated from Monash University, completing his medical internship and residency at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne and his general, interventional and electrophysiology cardiology training at the Alfred & Austin Hospitals, Melbourne and Westmead Hospital, Sydney.

Appointed full-time staff cardiologist and Director of Cardiac Imaging Research at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, UCLA School of Medicine, LA, Prof Kiat has been awarded millions in research grants and has published over 200 peer reviewed research publications in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
